On November 10, 2023, several members of the Battista Migration Law Group team attended Canada's 2SLGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce's 8th Annual Black and White Gala. We were excited to be surrounded by fellow leaders in business, doing wonderful work for our community.
Our Founding Counsel, Michael Battista, was nominated by Rainbow Railroad Executive Director, Kimahli Powell, for a Business Leadership award--the 2023 2SLGBTQ+ Business Advocate of the Year! To our delight, Michael was selected the winner of this award.
The 2SLGBTQI+ Business Advocate of the Year award recognizes an individual who has been a significant advocate and champion for 2SLGBTQI+ businesses and entrepreneurs. The award is given to an individual who has used their leadership, platform, influence or position to advance the overall mission of improving 2SLGBTQI+ inclusion in Canada’s economy.
Michael, who has been doing advocacy work for over 30 years, believes that this work is intrisicly connected to his success in business.
