Gabriella Utreras Sandoval is a bilingual (Spanish and English) associate lawyer at Battista Smith Migration Law Group who regularly works with clients to prepare refugee claims and appeals, humanitarian and compassionate applications, and applications for Pre-Removal Risk Assessment.
Gabriella holds two law degrees – one in common law and one in civil law – from the McGill University Faculty of Law. During law school, Gabriella volunteered with a number of community legal clinics in Toronto and Montreal including, the Legal Information Clinic at McGill, Solutions Justes/Just Solutions Legal Clinic, and The Centre for Spanish-Speaking Peoples Legal Clinic, where she assisted with sponsorship and humanitarian and compassionate applications for anglophone, francophone, and Spanish-speaking clients.
Prior to joining Battista Smith Migration Law Group, Gabriella articled with one of Toronto’s oldest immigration law firms where she assisted clients in various areas of Canadian immigration, including corporate and personal immigration matters. In addition to assisting clients with temporary resident applications, rehabilitation applications, visitor visas, and work permits, Gabriella prepared applications for permanent residence and assisted with appeals relating to family class applications and admissibility matters at the Immigration and Refugee Board and at the Federal Court of Canada.
Gabriella is currently a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Refugee Lawyers Association of Ontario.
